The Great Cake Escape

The Great Cake Escape from Michael Travis on Vimeo.

The Great Cake Escape is a guerrilla street art project to line the city streets with... cupcakes. Hiding coloured confections among the urban despoliation of London, artists Cherry Bakewell and Fondant Fancy enjoy creating scenes of contrast - adding a vivid splash of sugar to derelict buildings, pavements and weather beaten window ledges - in the hope of making people smile and stimulating curiosity. This documentary follows the fanciful pair as they perform their ritual, signature "cake drop".

Footage shot on location in London at Hoxton Square, the Kemistry Gallery, Spitalfields Markets, and around Old Street, Shoreditch and Brick Lane.
